Silence Inside

23. December 2020 – by Diana

As above, so below. As in heaven, so on earth. Like outside, so inside. It is an old hermetic principle that I discussed separately in another post.

What I want to tell you today is related to the upcoming Christmas holiday.
As I have said already, I reiterate today: To focus all the symbolism of Christmas on one single day of the year seems too superficial to me. For many, Christmas is a superficial holiday. We buy gifts for the loved ones, we decorate the Christmas tree, we cook exceptional dishes.

We make of Christmas a one-time event every year. Same with the Easter. These events, however, are intrinsically linked to each other. It is birth and rebirth. And if Christmas is related to the solar, material birth, Easter is associated with the spiritual birth/rebirth/resurrection.

So between Christmas and Easter and between Easter and Christmas, the inner work for spiritual birth and resurrection must be continuous. To offer gifts to those around us every day. Ah, not the ones in glossy paper. I speak of love and understanding, kindness and humility. To eat our daily food, whatever it may be as if it were a great feast, and let us not forget to thank the earth, those who sweated for, or those who were sacrificed, to reach our plate in the form flesh and blood. We should every day adorn our soul Christmas tree with spiritual food and light.

I recently saw Ridley Scott’s version of the classic movie “A Christmas Carol”. At the beginning of the film, Scrooge’s employee presents the importance of Christmas, by saying that it is “the day” when everyone tries to be kind and loving. But Scrooge replies, “Why shouldn’t people be kind and loving every day of the year, and just only one day be bad?”, a kind of “Scrooge Day”.

Working on yourself is not easy. To bring out things that you have hidden deep inside, you are afraid of, everything you do not like. That’s fear why you’d preferably do anything than confront them. You submerge yourself in the material around you, in a sea of entertainment and diversion.

When you defeat your ego, the beast within you, you realize the illusion that surrounds you. Your values change. You see that life is so fragile, so changeable, so fluid. Humanity, after all, it is just a glimpse in the eternity of the universe.

I know, my ideas seem so strange. I do not claim to be understood or agreed. You should follow your own path, which is necessary to get you exactly where you want.

And in the present time, ruled by this pandemic (which in my opinion is a kind of mass madness of pros and cons), I wish you to have the most fantastic Winter Holidays, and a Christmas that will please your heart and soul!
Be blessed!
