The Third Hermetic Principle

Principle of Vibration – “Nothing is at rest; everything is moving; everything is vibrating.”

This principle states: different manifestations of matter, energy, mind, and even Spirit, result mainly from different modes of particles vibration. From “The All”, which is pure Spirit, to the densest form of matter, everything is vibration – the higher the vibration (vibration frequency), the subtle the matter.

It is said, the Spirit itself vibrates at an infinite frequency and intensity, so that it appears at rest – just like a rotating object, from a certain rotation speed, it will appear stationary, or it even disappears from human perception.

On the other hand, there are coarse forms of matter whose vibration is so low that they also appear to be inert. Between these two extremes, there is a multitude of types, speeds and frequencies of movement. From the elementary particles to the entire universe, everything vibrates. This applies to all plans of existence; material, energetic, mental.

Although this Hermetic Principle was enunciated thousands of years ago by the Masters of Ancient Egypt, today’s science reveals, once again, the truth of this principle.

Physicists and astrophysicists have not entirely agreed on the nature of our universe. However, there is a theory called “String Theory”. This theory offers a possible explanation for our universe. It states that tiny strings which are vibrating in space (three visible and seven infinitesimal dimensions) and time, generate elementary particles like quarks, electrons, photons, bosons, etc. which are the building blocks for our universe. For example, a string that vibrates at a very high frequency generates particles with high energy, those vibrating at a lower frequency generating particles with low energy. Also, the form of these space-dimensions, in which the strings vibrate, determine the characteristics of the elementary particles and therefore of the energy and matter.

Even the mental manifestations as thought, emotion, reason, desire, or any other mental state, are an effect of vibrations. Each thought, feeling, or psychological state has the appropriate rate and mode of vibration.Tthrough an effort of the will, a person can control or reproduce these mental states, just as a musical tone can be produced by causing an instrument to vibrate at a certain frequency and rhythm.

In my opinion, everything that exists is characterized by a specific type of movement, at different size and scales. Only what does not exist can be motionlessness. That is the Nothing.

From the movement of galaxies, suns, planets, living beings, cells and to the movement of atoms, electrons and strings, the entire universe is in motion. The universe is in perpetual movement as long as it exists.
Motion is life, rest is death.

The universe is alive.
